Expands partnership with Broadridge to support administration of its new, proprietary voting service

SAN FRANCISCO — Wells Fargo Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) today announced the launch of its proprietary proxy voting service for client assets where it has both investment discretion and proxy voting authority. With the new approach, WIM will direct proxy voting for impacted assets based on its own custom policy and voting instructions focused on clients’ long‑term economic interests, bringing increased independence to this important investment service.

“We recognize the vital role our clients play in the companies they invest in,” said Darrell Cronk, chief investment officer of WIM. “Offering an in-house proxy voting service allows us to take more direct responsibility for our proxy voting approach and underscores our dedication to delivering the most innovative and effective solutions for our clients.”

The new in‑house approach, which is live with the current proxy season, streamlines the proxy voting process, reduces reliance on third parties, and further adds to WIM’s best‑in‑class investment services.

In support of this new service, WIM has expanded its relationship with global technology leader Broadridge Financial Solutions Inc. (NYSE: BR). WIM is using Broadridge’s technology platform to support the administration of WIM’s proprietary voting service and vote processing.

“Broadridge is proud to be the technology partner to WIM’s in‑house voting solution,” said Doug DeSchutter, President of Broadridge’s Investor Communications Solutions business. “Our custom policy engine delivers independent data and research, as well as the flawless vote execution required by world class wealth management firms like WIM.”

“WIM remains steadfast in our commitment to delivering value to clients, empowering them with the tools and resources necessary for successful and engaged investing. We are proud to set new standards for stewardship and client service, and we’re dedicated to providing innovative and effective solutions,” said Cronk.
